Tractor pulling - Tractor pulling, also known as power pulling, is a competition using tractors to pull a heavy sled along a 'course' and is very popular in rural areas. Usually the sled gets harder to pull the further you travel.
Tractor - A tractor (from Latin trahere "to pull") is a device intended for drawing, towing or pulling something which cannot propel itself and, often, powering it too. Most commonly the word is used to describe a vehicle intended for such a task on some other vehicle or object.
Jackknife (truck tractor and trailer) - A tractor-trailer consists of two units hitched together with the trailer portion being of considerably greater mass. When the tractor's brakes have been engaged, the trailer continues to push the tractor which may cause the tractor to turn to the side resulting in the hinging characteristic of a folding blade in a pocket knife (or jackknife).
